Earn your high school equivalency with your local Adult & Community Education’s HiSET™ program!

As part of the Maine Adult Education system, Bangor Adult & Community Education and additional adult education programs in Penobscot and Piscataquis counties offer preparation and assistance to those looking to earn their High School Equivalency Test (HiSET™). Participating programs include:

HiSET™ allows adults age 17 and over to achieve a high school equivalency diploma with the same legal status as a high school diploma. Test-takers will show their proficiency in skills that employers and post-secondary institutions expect and look for. Preparation classes are available to students, allowing them to be best prepared for the exam. The HiSET™ contains five subtests:

Language Arts – Reading
Language Arts – Writing
Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
