Topics include learning styles, study skills, time management, financial aid planning, and assistance with the college application process. This class is conducted over Google Classroom. Writing Skills for College will cover conventions of standard English usage with their applications in writing sentences, paragraphs, and simple essays. This free workshop introduces people to educational opportunities in general and Maine Educational Opportunities Center services in particular. This interactive workshop touches on the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career options, and study skills. The admissions section reviews college options, the college search process and the application structure. The fundamentals of financial aid, including the filing process and the applications, are covered in detail. Career options in our geographic area and counseling are introduced. Effective transitions into college, college readiness and study skills are discussed. This workshop is scheduled on an individual basis.
